Our values

More neighbours, more services

As population increases, we should focus growth to places where services and infrastructure are most plentiful, without displacing current residents.

At the same time, we should target investments towards under-serviced neighbourhoods.

Multisolving

We recognize that our most pressing challenges are complex ones, such as homelessness, addiction, loneliness, youth well-being, and climate change.

To prevent these problems from deepening as our community grows, we can find solutions that have multiple benefits at the same time, across multiple sectors.

Empowered neighbourhoods

Public investments and policy decisions should be co-designed by those most impacted at the neighbourhood level.

We connect neighbours with non-profits and grassroots groups to build effective coalitions across urban, suburban, and rural communities in Waterloo Region.

What we do

Community-based research: Read our vision to learn about the priorities that matter most to non-profits and grassroots groups in Waterloo Region.

Collective advocacy: We build coalitions across sectors, plan networking and advocacy opportunities, help organizations secure funding, find partnerships, and share resources.

Mapping service access: Our neighbourhood services map tracks which areas have abundant access to resources and the most capacity to welcome new neighbours.

Neighbourhood organizing: We lead visioning workshops, attend community events, and help neighbours organize issue-based campaigns to advance their local priorities.
